No1 MkVI Trial Rifle
Images
Well illustrated in this picture is the magazine
cut-off (later eliminated for the actual No4 rifle) and the cut in the fore-end
to accommodate it. Also the original fore-end checkering (it too was eliminated
for the actual No4 rifle).

In this picture you can clearly see the original
"top hat" style of cocking piece and the original scallop that was
located behind the safety lever.

This muzzle image shows an early style sight ear
arrangement and the stacking swivel. Another item that was later dropped
completely for the No4 rifle.
Here
is a No1 MkVI that was converted to a No4 MkI. Notice the magazine cut-off,
lower cut receiver wall and the scallop cut to the receiver underneath the rear
sight. Clear evidence that it was originally a MkVI.
