Bolt removal from the No4 MkI

Indicated by the red circle, you can see the bolthead
and spring plunger. To remove the bolt the sight would have to be raised, then the
plunger would have to be pushed down and finally, the bolt would be slid back
to allow the bolthead to be rotated up and out of the rifle.

In comparison, indicated by the red arrow, is the
cutout at the forward edge (near breech) of the raceway. This cutout is just
large enough to accommodate the bolt head. By manipulating the bolt, the
bolthead is positioned correctly and it will rotate up, allowing the bolt to be
pulled back and out of the receiver.
